UNCLE HOE, TOUGH SOJJA AND MR YAZO BATTLE
Clash of the Ugandan Titans: Social Media Feuds and Stage Showdowns Fuel a Heated Regional Music Rivalry”
The Ugandan music scene is currently ablaze with one of its most visceral regional rivalries in years a battle that has spilled far beyond studio booths and radio playlists. At the epicenter are three polarizing acts: the gritty lyrical scrapper Tough Sojja, the flamboyant provocateur Uncle Hoe, and the melodic wildcard Mr. Yazo. While their fanbases are drawn along geographic and generational lines, the real fireworks have detonated across TikTok live streams, Twitter Spaces, and crowded local stages in Kampala, Jinja, and Gulu. What began as veiled diss tracks has escalated into full-blown face-offs, with each artist daring the other to appear at the same venue on the same night—and more often than not, they do. The result is a high-stakes game of one-upmanship where a single viral freestyle or a botched stage entrance can flip public loyalty in hours.
These live clashes are not mere spectacle; they are revenue engines and reputation shredders rolled into one. Promoters are cashing in on "versus" nights, packing open-air grounds with thousands who come not just for music, but for the raw tension of watching their champion verbally dismantle a rival in real time. Tough Sojja, known for his rapid-fire delivery and street-hardened bars, often plays the aggressor, while Uncle Hoe counters with theatrical antics and crowd-baiting taunts that border on psychological warfare. war, silence is the only real loss.
Mr. Yazo, meanwhile, positions
himself as the cooler-headed musician who lets his hook-heavy choruses do the
talking yet he has not shied away from throwing subliminals that send social
media into a frenzy. What makes this rivalry uniquely Ugandan is its
hyper-local texture: each artist name-checks specific neighborhoods, markets,
and even taxi stages, turning every performance into a referendum on regional
pride. As the battles intensify, industry watchers warn that the line between
healthy competition and dangerous incitement is thinning but for now, fans are
eating up every second, and the artists know that in this

Azawi Names Burna Boy as Her Ultimate Dream Collaboration Partner
Ugandan music sensation Priscilla Zawedde, popularly known as Azawi, has set the record straight on her most desired musical partnership. During a recent appearance on 104.1 Play Power FM in Rwanda, the Swangz Avenue star revealed that a studio session with Nigerian Afrobeats heavyweight Burna Boy would be a dream come true. While acknowledging her admiration for fellow Nigerian star Wizkid, citing his "attitude and aura" as qualities she deeply respects, Azawi made it clear that the "African Giant" holds a special place in her artistic aspirations .
"I wanna work with Burna Boy. It would be special if I got a studio session with Burna Boy. I am a big fan of his; I like the attitude and aura around Wizkid, but there is something so special about Burna Boy," she stated during the interview . This revelation is consistent with her previously expressed ambitions, where she noted that collaborating with Burna Boy would not only fulfill a personal dream but also open doors for the Ugandan music industry to gain further international recognition . Her admiration for the Nigerian superstar is well-documented, as she has listed his album "African Giant" as one of her top inspirational projects, alongside works by Wizkid and Angelique Kidjo .
Azawi's ambition to collaborate with international icons is part of a broader strategy to elevate Ugandan music on the global stage. She has previously emphasized her desire to create music that transcends borders, a mission reflected in her decision to craft her "Sankofa" album in English to appeal to an international audience . While Burna Boy remains her ultimate dream partner, the singer has a history of successful cross-border collaborations, having previously worked with artists like Patoranking, Konshens, and DJ Neptune . Despite her openness to working with various artists, Azawi maintains a philosophy of organic musical connections, stating that she doesn't force collaborations but allows them to happen naturally through mutual artistic connections . Fans will be eagerly watching to see if this dream collaboration with Burna Boy becomes a reality and serves as the next major milestone in her rapidly rising career

AVA PEACE BREAKS SILENCE ON 6IX KILLAZ EXIT
Ava Peace Breaks Silence on 6ix Killaz Exit: "It Was Never War, It Was Evolution"
When the 6ix Killaz collective quietly dissolved last spring, the rumor mill churned at maximum velocity. Fans speculated about backstage blowouts, stolen verses, and ego clashes that would make reality TV look tame. But Ava Peace, the group’s former co-lead and now a solo architect of her own sound, has finally set the record straight. In an exclusive sit-down, she dismissed every feud narrative with a single, steady breath: “We didn’t break up because we hated each other. We broke up because we outgrew the room we were in.” For Peace, the split wasn’t a funeral—it was a graduation.
Peeling back the layers, Peace described a collective that started as a "survival pod" during the lean years of the underground circuit. Six hungry artists, one cramped studio, and a shared dream that demanded total surrender. But as tours stretched longer and streaming numbers climbed, she noticed a quiet shift. “At first, we moved as one organism,” she recalled. “But by year three, I was waking up writing ballads about isolation, while my bandmates were crafting mosh-pit anthems. Neither was wrong—but they couldn’t live in the same body.” Instead of forcing creative square pegs into round holes, the group made a pact: walk away clean, with no NDAs, no diss tracks, and no social-media subtweets. “That takes more maturity than staying together for the brand,” she added.
Today, Peace views the disbandment as the most radical act of self-care in her career. She’s since released two critically acclaimed EPs that lean into stripped-down acoustic storytelling—a far cry from the Killaz’s signature trap-metal fusion. Meanwhile, former members have launched solo projects in Afrobeats, jazz-rap, and even ambient production. They still text in a group chat, share studio tips, and recently co-signed a charity compilation without sharing a single stage. “Growth doesn’t have to be ugly,” Peace said, leaning forward with a wry smile. “Sometimes you just look at your reflection and realize you’re wearing someone else’s uniform. You take it off, thank them for the battle, and walk out in your own skin.” No beef. No blood. Just six people brave enough to become individuals

QUEEN OF CULTURE IRENE NAMATOVU
Queen of Culture Irene Namatovu Shares Secret to a Drama-Free Marriage: Why Trust Trumps Phone Checks"
In an era where social media and instant messaging often fuel suspicion, Ugandan singer and cultural icon Irene Namatovu is calling for a return to trust in relationships. The "Queen of Culture," known for her soulful voice and lasting marriage to musician and politician Geoffrey Lutaaya, has a simple piece of advice for young women feeling insecure: stop checking your partner’s phone.
Namatovu, who has been married for over a decade, has often spoken about the foundations of her successful marriage in a celebrity world full of drama and breakups. While she hasn't been involved in recent public scandals, her advice resonates against the backdrop of a generation often plagued by "relationship paranoia."
Trust Over Surveillance
For Irene, the habit of snooping through a partner’s messages is a sign of a deeper issue: a lack of trust that can poison a relationship faster than any external threat. Her stance aligns with the philosophy she lives by: prioritizing peace and mutual respect.
“In my life, I never hate other people. I live my free life because I know the same way I have my faults, is the same way some other person has them,” Namatovu once said regarding her drama-free approach to life . This perspective extends to her marriage. She believes that if a man wants to cheat, checking his phone won't stop him; it will only create a toxic environment.
The Real Secret to a Lasting Union
So, what is Namatovu’s real secret? It’s a combination of patience, genuine friendship, and a decision to ignore external noise.
In recent interviews, she has emphasized that building a lasting union like hers requires more than just love. She highlights patience and acceptance as key ingredients . "If you want to build any relationship, do not listen to rumors and negativity because we are all not perfect," she advised .
She has often addressed the "young girl" threat that many married women fear. Rather than turning into a private investigator, she has previously advised older women to remain attractive and sharp for their husbands to keep the spark alive . However, her core message remains internal confidence rather than external surveillance.
Walking the Talk
Irene’s advice isn't just talk; it's a reflection of how she has built her own home. She has famously opened up about raising her husband’s children from a previous relationship, treating them as her own . This level of maturity and commitment shows that she focuses on building the family structure rather than tearing it down with suspicion.
She also keeps her marriage protected from public scrutiny. While other celebrities might air their dirty laundry online, Irene chooses peace. She maintains that she does not harbor grudges, which allows her to live a stress-free life . This philosophy has helped her and Lutaaya remain one of Uganda's most stable celebrity couples.
The Takeaway
Irene Namatovu’s advice to the younger generation is clear: a phone check will not secure your man, but patience, trust, and a focus on your own self-worth will. By putting down the phone, you are choosing peace over paranoia—and for the "Queen of Culture," that is the only way to reign.

He encouraged them to use Government wealth creation programmes, including the Parish Development Model (PDM) and Emyooga, to establish income-generating activities. He also advised them to explore the four sectors including ICT, Services ,Agriculture and Manufacturing. The President said Uganda has opportunities for citizens to create wealth and improve household incomes without being forced to seek survival abroad under difficult conditions. Museveni directed the returnees to document all businesses, property and investments they lost during the attacks. He said Government would engage South African authorities to pursue compensation for the affected Ugandans.
